Elizabeth Pope is the owner and instructor at The Conservatory of Extraordinary Dance. She studied ballet, jazz, Irish step, pointe, and tap for many years at Catherine Treon School of Dance and served as both a leader for younger students’ classes and a substitute teacher starting  in high school. Elizabeth went on to teach Irish step classes and choreograph a variety of dances for the annual recital from young children's dances to the most advanced ballet. While attending Penn State University, Elizabeth was a member of the Penn State Ballroom Dance Team and competed at competitions in State College, Maryland, Philadelphia, and New York City. She and her partners earned various top 5 and top 10 placings in both International and American styles. Additionally, Elizabeth has studied dance at New York City’s Broadway Dance Center under the tutelage of world-renowned instructors in a variety of disciplines. Elizabeth served as the choreographer for Shikellamy High School’s musical productions of Ragtime, The Wiz, Wonderland, Once on This Island, and The Lightning Thief. Under her direction, the students won a Community Theatre League Ray of Light Award for Best Choreography Execution for Ragtime and The Wiz, as well as a nomination for The Lightning Thief, which also won the best student design award for choreography by The Conservatory of Extraordinary Dance student Olivia Weaver. Elizabeth especially enjoys teaching her students not only a strong technical foundation, but also an appreciation for dance as an art form in a multitude of styles.
